I just had someone donate $5 and then dispute with PayPal 4 hours later. This is despite the fact that I responded twice to them, once with the file within 11 minutes of the donation notification.
My point of view is this
Your donating money. Why are you asking for a refund within 4 hours?
You didn't use a shopping cart to purchase anything. You've donated money to help further support open source development and support. As a thank you, I'm giving away software enhancements for my Testimonials Widget plugin.
My feeling is this
The rapid escalation to a PayPal dispute is rude. It's also one way to turn people who openly provide open source community support away from doing so anymore.
Am I being naive?
Should I change the donation verbiage to purchase?
Should I just say thanks for donations and no longer send any bonus materials?
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated as I try to sort through this. I mean to do good and when stuff like this happens, it's like "what did I do wrong?"
